Dr. Jennifer Sherman

Jennifer Sherman is a sociologist who focuses on rural poverty and rural communities in the Northwest. Her research relies on in-depth interviews and participant observation to gain thorough understandings of individuals’ experiences. Dr. Sherman has been at WSU since 2008 and has lived and worked in multiple communities in Eastern and Central Washington, as well as Idaho and Northern California.

Dr. Jennifer Schwartz

Jennifer Schwartz is a criminologist who conducts statistical analyses of community crime patterns and trends. She has published research on violence, drugs and alcohol, fraud and white-collar crime. Dr. Schwartz began her career at WSU in 2003, where she teaches Criminology and research methods courses.
